What began as a Christmas letter between neighbors, turned into an inspirational book about faith, friendship and surviving 2020. Amanda placed a Christmas letter in Jamie's mailbox in December of 2019. Upon receiving it, Jamie set it aside, fearing that it would be another dreadful Christmas letter. Once she took the time to read it, she found that it was one of the most entertaining Christmas letters she had ever received. They came up with a plan to pick a verse from the Bible each week, and write an essay about what it meant to them - a weekly Bible study of sorts. Their weekly Bible study turned into an inspirational journey these two neighbors shared throughout 2020. This is not a “holier-than-thou” Bible study, this is real talk between two friends, neighbors. Two friends that are similar but extremely different. Jamie McKean Hodges is a songwriter, having written numerous songs with her husband and country artist, Cody Joe Hodges. Amanda Kidd is an executive assistant and blogger (and not a music lover). It is personal, relatable and inspiring, which is just what this world needs. The authors, Amanda Kidd and Jamie McKean Hodges will be the first to admit that they are not perfect, in fact that they are perfectly imperfect, but that’s what makes this project so relatable – we are all perfectly imperfect. The hope is that maybe someone will read what they’ve written and it will have a positive impact on them and their lives.
